KISS - "Unmasked" Megapost!

As mentioned above, I do take requests and today's comes from my pal ROADHEAD. It's no secret his favorite KISS album is 1980's Unmasked, so here's some cool audio from the era.

Motley & Billy

In honor of new releases today from Motley Crue and Billy Idol, I'm going to do a double post. First up is Motley Crue with a live rendition of "Bastard" from 1982.

Billy Idol releases Idolize Yourself, a new "best-of" compilation, today that features two new tracks and a bonus DVD. Below is an amazing recording Billy and crew performing "Eyes Without A Face" in Chicago, 2006.

Van Halen - "Little Dreamer" (Demo)

Van Halen - "Little Dreamer" (Demo)

Recieved this demo as part of a trade a while back. This is probably my favorite Van Halen song, so hearing the making of it was especially cool. The lyrics aren't quite there yet so you can hear Dave rattling some off as the song goes along. You can also hear the guys having a laugh at the end. Too cool. As with all of my demos and rare recordings, I went in and cleaned the sound up a bit for those of you with good speaker systems on your PC's.

KISS - Asylum (Radio Spot)

KISS - Asylum (Radio Ad)

The following is a 25-second radio spot for KISS' 1985 album, Asylum. This ad was also used as the soundtrack to the regional TV commercials that accompanied the LP's release on September 12, 1985.

In the fall of 1998, shortly after the release of Psycho Circus, KISS took a break from tour rehearsals to record a new version of "Detroit Rock City" to be included in the upcoming film of the same name.

The track was recorded in a small studio located directly above the Hollywood Athletic Club by the band and a lone sound engineer.

A last-minute decision was made by Island/DefJam to not include this version on the soundtrack as originally planned, thus, it has yet to be made widely available.
